Readers who arrive without registration will only be accepted if there are vacant work places at that time.

   You can access documents preserved in the Kaunas Regional State Archive in the archive's reading rooms on weekdays from 8:15 to 16:45, and on Fridays from 8:15 to 15:30.

  Individuals with disabilities are kindly requested to inform the reading room in advance by phone +370 37 22 29 44 or by email [email protected] about their request to use the reading room services. The possibility to access preserved documents will be arranged according to individual needs.

  For document search (in Kaunas), readers can use the card index of collections, inventories of collections, catalogs, and personal and geographical indexes. Information about the collections from the periods of the Republic of Lithuania (1919-1940), the Soviet occupation (1940-1941, 1944-1990) and the German occupation (1941-1944) is provided in the "Guide to the Collections of the Central State Archive of the Lithuanian SSR in Kaunas" published in 1986.

   Access to documents in poor physical condition and the information contained therein is regulated by the "Regulations on Access to Documents in Poor Physical Condition," approved by Order No. V-99 of the Chief Archivist of Lithuania, dated March 9, 2011.

    A reader who has paid for copying services according to the procedure established by Order No. VE-30 of the Chief Archivist of Lithuania, dated July 8, 2022, "On the Approval of the List of Tariffs for Paid Services of State Archives and the Description of the Procedure for Providing Paid Services of State Archives," which approved the price list of services provided by state archives, can order analog and digital copies of documents.
